July 25, 2015, from 8 am to 12 noon, Britnee Akau led a team of girls in fundraising for her Gift of Aloha Book Drive again. They raised over $200 and will be purchasing anti-bullying books which will be given out to students in the 2nd grade who attend Wilcox Elementary School this year. She will be visiting the school soon to talk to the 2nd graders about bullying.
Britnee is a 2016 Miss Hawaii High School Delegate. Her community service project which was first started at the beginning of this year, now with a focus on bullying, ties directly into B.R.A.V.E. which stands for Building Respect and Values for Everyone. B.R.A.V.E. is the official national platform and anti-bullying campaign of the Miss Jr. High, High School, and Collegiate America Organization.
